This blend of Sangiovese (45%), Montepulciano (35%), Alicante (15%) and Malvasia Nera (5%) comes to us from Tuscany. The fruit was handpicked in early September in small baskets. Fermentation was in used French oak barrels and spent 12 months aging. This 2015 vintage is a dark, powerful wine. Super-ripe black cherry, plum, chocolate, sage smoke and licorice add to the wine’s brooding personality.
